Songshu Fm
Type Locality and Naming
Southeast Liaoning. The Songshu Fm was named by Yu Jianzhang, Cui Shengqin and Qiu Ganlin in 1964. The typical section is situated in the coast west of Songshu Town to Dashitou in the Yongning Basin of Fuxian County, Liaoning Province. Lowermost formation of Yongning Gr.

Lithology and Thickness
The Songshu Fm is a suite of detrital rock dominated by quartzose sandstone with lower roundness and maturity, which is composed of pink red thick-bedded, fine- to medium-gravel conglomerate and breccia, flesh-pink thick-bedded pebbly feldspathic greywacke and white gray to dark gray medium- to coarse-grained feldspathic quartzose greywacke.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
The Songshu Fm overlies unconformably the underlying Anshan Group (migmatitic granite).
Upper contact
Regional extent
It is limitedly distributed in the Yongning Basin of Fuxian County and Lushun area (Jiushijie).
